The short version
Your learning progress is saved in your own browser and is never sent to us. You do not need an account or an email address to use the course. The only information that reaches us is what you deliberately type into the feedback form.
Your learning progress
Every card you review, your schedule, your streak and your settings are stored using your browser’s local storage, on your device. This data is not transmitted to Kvela and we cannot read it.
Two consequences worth understanding. Your progress does not follow you between devices or browsers, so your phone and your laptop keep separate histories. And if you clear your browser data, use private browsing, or switch browsers, that progress is gone and we have no copy to restore. The settings page has a backup export you can use to keep your own copy.
Feedback you send us
If you report a problem with a card, we receive the text you write, the identifier of the card you were looking at, and the category you chose. That is stored in a private spreadsheet we use to fix the course, and it is not published or sold. Please do not put personal information in the feedback box, since there is no reason for us to have it.
To stop the form being flooded, your IP address is held briefly in server memory to count recent submissions. It is not written to disk and it disappears when the server restarts.
Cookies
The course sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie the site can set is an administrative one used by us to reach internal tooling, and it is never set for ordinary visitors.
Hosting and third parties
The site is served by our hosting provider, which keeps standard server request logs including IP addresses, for security and reliability. Images and audio are served as ordinary static files from the same host.
We do not currently run analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking scripts of any kind. If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and this section will name the provider and what it collects.
Accounts and payment
There are no user accounts at present, so we hold no email addresses, names or passwords. There is no payment processing, so we never see or store card details.
When accounts and payment are introduced, this policy will be updated first, and it will describe what is stored, where, for how long, and how to delete it.
Children
The course is not directed at children under 13, and since no account is required we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because your progress lives only on your device, you already control it completely: clearing your browser data erases it. For anything you sent through the feedback form, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
